I hope you’ve enjoyed the previous guest post by Kyara. It’s very special to see my sold Filofaxes completely happy and set up in its new home. Very thankful! Thanks again Kyara! All the best to you and Miss Teal. I’m actually so glad I don’t miss her at all!
Well, the post of moving into Mulberry, was actually a few weeks after the fact. Meaning, I was in there ever since it came in the mail, which happened to be after returning from our holiday.
So, I’m in the Mulberry for about almost a month now. I’m loving it! But… again I’m torn between the personal paper size because of the writing space ánd the light weight and smaller size binder pocket size.
I guess, this’ll be always an issue for me, going back and forth between both sizes. Moving out, moving in and so in. I’ve just accepted this. I’ve also accepted the fact life changes as we move on.
A while ago, I told you why I moved out of the personal size again and back to pocket size. Several pockets have come to pass and even the mini size!
The reason why I moved out Personal size to begin with had to do with the fact I went back working full time again, after my last pregnancy. I also used the A5 Osterley as my work Filofax. This one is very, very heavy! At first I took it home and back to work each day, in case I wanted/needed to finish something at home. Well, I came back from this very quickly, as I was also carrying my Personal size Regency in my handbag every day! I also was so busy with the new job, there was hardly time to spend with my Regency. So, the pages ended up left undecorated and a lot emptier. Even the to do’s, I couldn’t get done! And that’s kind of the whole point of having/using a Filofax to stay organized and stay on top of things!
Enough arguments to move into Pocket.
Today it’s like this. My life is back on track, which is a big YAY! This means, there’s time to take notes, plan, organize, decorate the Filofax again. This all happened gradually though. I haven’t forced anything.
The need arose to write more in my Filo, as well as planning more (daily) To Do’s again.
But: I loved Mulberry being portable, light in terms of weight even though it’s pretty stuffed!
I figured to take pages out of the Personal Regency and move it to a compact size. Just my planning sections and some notes I need to refer to almost daily. And I did.
I loved the slimness but bigger size sheets ánd the extra writing space! I could also reuse pages out of the Regency. Love how those paper sizes are easily transferable.
I also couldn’t help myself by placing an order on Filofax Germany and purchased this one!
It’ll probably arrive either Friday or Saturday this week. I’ve decided to go with Filofax Germany as they have excellent service and shipping is super fast an affordable (unlike say; Filofax Italy). Also in case of any issues there’s always replacement possible and good customer service. I ended up paying full RRP of Euro 129,- ex, P&P.
This purchase wasn’t on impulse though. I also have this black compact Chameleon in my collection. I kept looking at in and fitted all my inserts in there. Lovely! Black suits me now, as the Filo is on my desk and I need/want a professional look for my Filofax, being at work a lot. I’m in IT (Sales) and it’s a very competitive world. A mans world too. I have to prove my self each single day over and over again. My Personal Filofax contributes to this.
I’ve always wanted a Luxe. However, the pocket rings too small and the A5 rings dito. Compact Luxe has 15 mm rings, same as my other compacts, so I dared to take this plunge. Not after I’ve stalked this online everywhere! Up until the moment of ordering I just couldn’t seem to make up my mind whether to go with the red or black. I even made a list with pros and cons! At the end I went with black, because this’ll match with every other color. As well as my handbag (a black DKNY at the moment) as my pens, inserts, tabs. They look very darn fine in the black Chameleon, so black it is!!!
Me & My Filo World
I almost quit this Blog. I realized it’s becoming too much work. A chore really. I found myself editing photos and blogging at times I should really do other things. Like working for instance! Or spending time with my family!
I asked you guys on Twitter. The suggestion to leave the Blog up and to not post anything, or leave that open is a bit of a no go for me. I’m kind of a ‘all or nothing’ kind of girl. To me it would seem so sad to open the Blog page and found it not updated. Not alive, no interaction with the readers and so on… That’s just not what I want for this Blog at all.
But, I probably may have found Filofax love again. I’m having high hopes for the Compact Luxe. At this point in my life the right way to go, size wise and functionality wise.
We’ll just see! I’m very excited about the Luxe right now and can’t wait for it to arrive.
